A connected Product Feed is required
In order to create a Products Viewed audience, you must have a product feed connected to your account. This can be completed through either one of our many Ecommerce integrations or by having our support team upload a hosted product feed for you.
A Products Viewed audience organizes visitors based on the number of products they have viewed through your connected Product Feed.
Segmenting your audience by the number of products they have visited can be a good way of distinguishing and strategizing around different levels of intent. Someone who visits several products on your site may be more invested in your brand and be more likely to convert than someone who doesn’t make it to an actual product page.
How It Works
This feature relies on two key components working together:
- Your AdRoll Pixel: Our pixel identifies when a visitor lands on a product page on your website.
- Your Product Feed: Your connected product feed provides us with a complete list of your product URLs.
When a user visits a URL that matches a product in your feed, AdRoll counts it as one product view. The Products Viewed Audience is then populated with visitors who meet the minimum view count you define.
Create a Products Viewed Audience
- Log in to AdRoll and navigate to Audiences > Website Audiences.
- Click New Audience.
- Under Audience Typed, select Products Viewed from the drop-down.

Under Viewed at least [ ] products, set the minimum number of products a person needs to view to be added to this audience.
- Give your audience a name that makes it easy to find later.
- Select the audience duration based on how long to keep a person in this audience.
- When you're finished, click Create Audience.
