If you have implemented the AdRoll Pixel Code via GTM or by placing it manually on your website header, you must remove it before connecting AdRoll to Shopify.
Follow one of the methods below to remove the Pixel based on its original implementation method:
- Remove Pixel placed via GTM: use this method if you installed the Pixel via Google Tag Manager.
- Remove Pixel placed manually: use this method if you installed the Pixel on your website header.
Once you are done removing the Pixel, follow the steps in this article to connect AdRoll to Shopify and access all Shopify Integration features and benefits.
GTM Pixel Removal
Please remove the AdRoll tag from your GTM container to deactivate it.
- Select the tag which uses the AdRoll Pixel.

Delete the tag from the GTM container.
The AdRoll Pixel will no longer be active on your site.
Manual Pixel Removal
If the Pixel code was manually placed in the website code, it will need to be deleted by reversing the pixel placement process — editing the code and removing the Pixel.
