Our social campaigns aim to show your ads to your desired audience across Facebook and Instagram. As part of your campaign targeting, it's important to choose where on Facebook and Instagram your ads will show. We offer every ad placements you can run on Facebook and a centralized place for you to manage all your social ads in AdRoll.
Our default and recommended option is to run ads across all placements for optimal performance and reach.
However, you also have the option to manually choose your own ad placements.
Note: Your ads may not run on all placements you select. Based on the types of ads you’ve uploaded and your campaign settings, some placements may not be available.
Check your social ads placement dashboard to view where your ads are running.
Preview your ads
To see previews of how your ads will look on the different ad placements, go to your Ad Library and click on one of your Facebook or Instagram ads.
Note: Ad previews are most likely what your ad will look like, but may vary slightly when actually served.

These are the current placements available across Facebook.

News Feed (desktop & mobile): This placement our ads appear in the desktop News Feed when people access the Facebook website on their computers. Your ads appear in the mobile News Feed when people access the Facebook app on mobile devices or the Facebook website via a mobile browser.

Right-hand Column: Right column ads are desktop-only and appear in the right hand column of Facebook pages.

Instant Article: This is a mobile-optimized format that enables publishers to distribute fast-loading interactive articles to the Facebook app.

Marketplace: Your ads appear in the Facebook Marketplace to reach an active community of people who are already interested in purchasing products.

Video Feeds: This placement will display your video ads between organic videos in video-only environments on Facebook News Feed and Facebook Watch.

Stories: This placement will display your image ads for five seconds or until the user swipes out of the Story.

Search: This placement helps create opportunities to reach and connect with users in the discovery mindset. Your ad will appear next to relevant Facebook search results.

Stream: Your ads appear in the Instagram Feed to people browsing the Instagram app.

Story: This placement will display your image ads for five seconds or until the user swipes out of the Story.

Explore: Your ads will appear in between organic content as a similar post to a chosen content in the Instagram Explore page.
Home: Your ads appear between conversations in the Home tab of Messenger Inbox. When someone clicks on an ad, it will open into a detailed view of that ad within the Messenger app.

Story: This placement will display your image ads for five seconds or until the user swipes out of the Story.
