You can upload creative ads to AdRoll either during Campaign/Recipe creation process or from the Ad Library. Any ads created through either option will be available to add to future Campaigns/Recipes. As an alternative to uploading your own ads, you can use our AI-powered Ad builder to create and upload Web Ads quickly including, Static Image, Native and animated HTML-5 Ads.
You can upload the following types of ads to your Ad Library on your own:
- Static Image Web Ads
- Static Native Web Ads
- Video Web Ads
- Social Ads
- CTV Ads
- Dynamic Web Ads created with AdRoll's Dynamic Ad Builder
To upload the following ad types contact Customer Support or your dedicated Account Manager:
- Animated HTML5 Web Ads
- Third Party Ads
- Customized Dynamic Web Ads created by you
Upload Creative Ads from the Ad Library
You can upload your pre-existing creative ads to the Ad Library at any time by following the steps below:
- Login to your AdRoll account, go to Creatives > Ad Library on the left side menu.
- Click the Upload button in the top right corner.
- Drag and drop your pre-created ads into the drop-zone.
- The sizes supported will be displayed.
- For Web Display Ads: supported sizes are listed.
- For Web Native Ads: Images can be any size greater than 600x600.
- For Web Video Ads: Choose your thumbnail using the arrows on the video preview. We recommend a thumbnail image with minimal text.

- For Social Ads: supported sizes are listed.
- For HTML5 Ads: Contact AdRoll Support to upload them for you.
- Edit the details as needed and preview the ads on the right, then click Upload.
Upload Creative Ads from a Campaign
You can upload your pre-existing creative ads when editing a Web or CTV campaign. Any ads added to a specific campaign are automatically added to your Ad Library and can be used for other campaigns.
- Login to your AdRoll account, navigate to Campaigns on the left side menu.
- Create a new campaign or edit an existing campaign.
- Within the campaign edit mode scroll down to Configure AdGroup band click Edit.
- Scroll down to the section called Select your Ads and click Upload.
- Drag and drop your pre-created ads into the drop-zone.
- The sizes supported will be displayed.
- For Web Display Ads: supported sizes are listed.
- For Web Native Ads: Images can be any size greater than 600x600.
- For Web Video Ads: Choose your thumbnail using the arrows on the video preview. We recommend a thumbnail image with minimal text.

- Click Finish Later to save your campaign as a draft or Launch.
Upload Creative Ads from a Recipe for Social and Web
You can upload your pre-existing creative ads when editing a Recipe for Social or Web. Any ads added to a specific campaign are automatically added to your Ad Library and can be used for other campaigns.
- Login to your AdRoll account, navigate to Campaigns > Recipes.
- Create a new Recipe or edit an existing one.
- Within the Recipe edit mode, go to Set Up Ad Campaign and select the channel or add a new one within the Choose Ads section.
- Click Upload.
- Drag and drop your pre-created ads into the drop-zone.
- Based on Ad type:
- For Web Static: supported sizes are listed.
- For Web Native: Images can be any size greater than 600x600.
- For Web Animated HTML5: Contact AdRoll Support to upload them for you.
- For Web Video: Choose your thumbnail using the arrows on the video preview. We recommend a thumbnail image with minimal text.
- Edit the details as needed and preview the ads on the right, then click Upload.
- Click Save & Close to save the ads in your Recipe.
