The AdRoll AI Assistant is a guided, in-platform experience that helps you work with AdRoll using natural language. Ask questions about your account or campaigns, create supported campaign drafts, review optimization opportunities, analyze performance, and build reports without leaving the platform.
The Assistant combines your account context with AdRoll best practices and more than 16 years of advertising expertise to provide relevant answers and recommendations. When it suggests an action, it also explains the reasoning behind it so you can review the recommendation and stay in control of the final decision.
The AdRoll AI Assistant is currently available in open beta.

What is the AdRoll AI Assistant?
The AdRoll AI Assistant is the conversational way to interact with AdRoll. Instead of navigating between different areas of the platform to find an answer or complete a supported workflow, you can describe what you need in plain language.
For example, you can ask:
- “What is the status of my pixel?”
- “Guide me through campaign setup.”
- “How can I improve my campaigns’ performance?”
- “How is my account performing this month?”
- “Create a campaign performance report for the last month.”
Depending on your request, the Assistant can answer a question, retrieve account information, surface a recommendation, build a report, or guide you through a supported action.
How the AI Assistant and HeroIQ work together
The AdRoll AI Assistant is powered by HeroIQ, AdRoll’s AI intelligence and orchestration layer.
Think of the AI Assistant as the experience you interact with and HeroIQ as the system working behind it.
HeroIQ coordinates specialized AI agents that support different advertising tasks. When you make a request, HeroIQ interprets what you are asking and determines which capabilities are needed to respond.
For example, one request may require campaign performance data, while another may use campaign creation capabilities, optimization recommendations, or AdRoll product guidance. HeroIQ coordinates the appropriate agents and AdRoll capabilities behind the scenes while maintaining the context of your conversation.
You do not need to choose or interact with individual agents. They work together behind the scenes so you experience one continuous conversation with the AI Assistant.
For straightforward product or setup questions, the Assistant can use approved AdRoll Help Center and technical documentation to provide guidance. For supported workflows that require account data or action, HeroIQ coordinates the appropriate capabilities to help complete the request.
What you can do with the AdRoll AI Assistant
The AI Assistant supports a growing set of workflows across account setup, campaign creation, optimization, and reporting.

How to access the AI Assistant
You can open the AI Assistant from the left-hand navigation in AdRoll.
You may also see AI entry points within supported areas of the platform, including:
- The AI Insights panel
- Sparkle icons
alongside supported metrics or recommendations
- Campaign creation workflows. For example, go to Campaigns > Ad Campaigns, click Create, and choose Campaign Creation Assistant.
- Suggested prompts at relevant points in the platform
These entry points may open the Assistant with additional context about the page or workflow you are currently viewing.
Requirements and permissions
To use the AdRoll AI Assistant, you need:
- An active AdRoll account
- A user role assigned within AdRoll
The Assistant follows your existing AdRoll permissions. It can only access the accounts, data, features, and actions already available to your user role.
The AI Assistant is available across AdRoll packages during the open beta. Features that already require a particular package or permission remain subject to those requirements.
Some capabilities also require the underlying feature, integration, or account setup to already be available. For example, checking the status of a supported e-commerce integration requires that integration to be connected to your account.
Staying in control
The AI Assistant is designed to help you move from information to action while keeping you in control of campaign decisions.
Depending on the workflow, the Assistant may provide an answer, recommendation, supported action, or ready-for-review draft.
Campaign creation is draft-first, so you can review campaign settings and creative before activation. Optimization recommendations also include rationale to help you understand why a change is being suggested before deciding whether to act.
Always review AI-generated recommendations, reports, and campaign settings to make sure they align with your objectives.
Data and security
The AI Assistant can use data available within your AdRoll account when account context is needed to answer questions, generate reports, or provide recommendations.
Your account data is not exposed to other advertisers or used to train external AI models.
Access follows your existing AdRoll permissions, so users only receive information available to their assigned accounts and roles.
For product-related questions, the Assistant is grounded in approved AdRoll Help Center and technical documentation.
AdRoll is SOC 2 compliant. For more information about AdRoll security and privacy practices, visit the NextRoll Trust Center.
