Data types

You can append custom fields to the contacts you upload to AdRoll. These can be traits about the contact collected in form submissions or any value you attributed to your contacts such as loyalty number, VIP status, or anything else.

When creating a custom field in AdRoll you must specify its data type. The data type serves two purposes:

  1. To help you keep your data clean by validating the data that you upload to AdRoll against the specified data type and
  2. To harness the power of your custom fields as criteria when building lists.
