Create and Edit AdRoll Campaigns

Create a new campaign 

  1. In the Home tab, click Create to initiate campaign creation process from scratch. 
  2. Or you may navigate to the Campaigns tab and click Ads >> Create.
  3. Select your marketing goal and click Next.
  4. From the menu, select your option depending on your campaign goal: 
  5. Name your campaign by clicking on Edit Name.
  6. Confirm the Channels
  7. Set Campaign Schedule: Choose the schedule for your campaign:
    • Set specific Start and End Dates (UTC).
    • By default, the campaign is set to start immediately upon approval with no end date. 
    • Note: Campaigns are scheduled in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). After submission, campaigns undergo a review period of up to 48 hours before going live.

  8. Edit Choose Web Settings and select your Optimization Strategy for the Campaign. Learn more about optimization strategies.
    • By default, the campaign is set to Optimized for clicks, automatic CPC under Bidding Settings.
    • You may configure the Bid Strategy accordingly.
  9. In Edit Configure AdGroup, you can name the AdGroup and set up a schedule specific to the AdGroup, allowing it to run independently of the campaign's schedule.
  10. Choose or Create your audience to target within your AdGroup. Learn more about the different audience types you can create. If you are unsure on which audience to choose, select your visitors to unsegmented pages audience to start.
  11. Select the locations you want to target. We recommend keeping Automatic. Geotargeting is limited to country-based regions.
  12. Select the ads you wish to run in this Campaign. You can Choose ads from your Ads Library, Create or Upload using media assets you already have, or Request Free Ads from our team. We recommend at least one of each of these ad sizes: 160x600, 300x250, 300x600, 320x50, 728x90, 970x250, 600x500, and 600x315.
  13. Optional: Create an additional AdGroup with similar or different elements of the original AdGroup. Our artificial intelligence will optimize towards the best-performing ad across AdGroups.
  14. Lastly comes the option to Choose a Budget
    • Set a daily budget of $50.00 USD (recommended) or more.
    • Once the amount is set, the campaign will start immediately. 
    • Billing Information: Your payment method will be authorized when you launch or edit the campaign budget. The authorization will reflect the maximum weekly spend for all your web campaigns. Authorizations are not charges. For more details, refer to payment method authorizations.

Note: There is a minimum daily budget of $5.00 per AdGroup. If you have a singular AdGroup at the minimum daily budget and you create a second AdGroup, you will be prompted to increase your daily budget for your entire campaign.

Edit an existing campaign

Click on your campaign name from your Campaigns tab. Once on the campaign level view in your dashboard, click Edit.

Pause an AdGroup

To pause your AdGroup, hover over the three dots next to your AdGroup name on the Campaign page and select Pause. Once paused, the budget previously allocated to that AdGroup will move towards your other AdGroups. If you pause the only AdGroup in your campaign, the campaign will stop spending until the AdGroup is reactivated or a new AdGroup is created.

Complete an AdGroup

To end your AdGroup, click into the Campaign edit page and scroll down to the AdGroup you plan to end. Once in the AdGroup Settings section of the Campaign edit page, select an end date under Start and End Dates. Once the end date has passed, the AdGroup will end and budget will be re-allocated towards other AdGroups. If you end a singular AdGroup in a campaign, the campaign will end.
