How AdRoll Email Collects and Uses Emails

When you join Email we automatically update your AdRoll Pixel to recognize when an email is submitted on any page of your website. By associating each cookie your AdRoll Pixel drops with a unique email, we are able to match subscribers to the actions they take on your website. What’s the major key? Collecting those emails.

Any time your visitor is prompted to submit their email is an opportunity for us to add them to your Email audience. Not all websites are the same, but common opportunities are:

1. Subscribing your blog or newsletter
2. Logging into their account (with an email address)
3. Checking out
4. Signing up for a promotion or coupon

Basically, anytime your visitor shares their email address on your website is an opportunity for your AdRoll Pixel to pick it up. So make sure your AdRoll Pixel is active when it happens. 

 

How we use emails collected from your website

We only use the actual email address for your campaigns and don’t share it with anyone else except as necessary to send the emails.  We do also collect a hashed version of the email which we do store permanently and use to help us better target ads to benefit all of our advertisers.   

While we do our part to help protect your customer’s privacy by securely transferring the email address to us, we depend on you to ensure that you’re following all regulations around email collection and use including anti-spam laws. Make sure you notify customers of these practices in your terms of service or privacy notice and get any required permissions to send marketing emails.
