Launch Your First Campaign

To launch a campaign, first sign in. Before you launch, make sure your AdRoll Pixel is active.

Your first campaign establishes your performance baseline. When you refine your future campaigns, you can compare new activity to this baseline to make sure any changes to strategy, creative, or optimizations are effective. 

When you go to set up your first campaign, choose either Automated Campaigns or a manual campaign. Here are some tips for setting up your campaigns:

  1. Choose where you want to run ads.

    • Web is good for reach: We serve your ads everywhere your visitors go on the general web.

    • Facebook is good for social engagement: Visitors can like, comment, and share your post with their network.

    • Email is good for direct contact: Send your message straight to the inbox.
  2. Customize your campaign settings

    • Budget: Minimum required budget is $3/day.

      Set a budget that makes sense for your daily site traffic. Learn more about how to optimize your budget over time and use our budget calculator to get a per-campaign estimate based on your visitor traffic.

    • Schedule: By default, your campaign is set to start immediately with no end date (you can specify an end date later by editing your campaign). We recommend a two week minimum for your campaign.

    • Geotargets: You can set geotargets to target or exclude specific locations.

  3. Define your audience.

    • Generally, the larger your audience, the better your performance.

    • We set up your account to automatically capture all visitors to your website. By establishing a baseline with your broadest audience first, you can see the impact when you narrow your target.

      If you're running a general brand campaign or just getting started, we recommend targeting All Visitors.

  4. Choose your ads.

    • To complement your target audience, we recommend general brand ads that can be easily recognized. Having a strong brand presence or demonstrating value that a visitor may have missed on their first visit can help drive engagement. Learn more about your ad choices
    • To receive free custom ads made by our in-house Design Squad, select Request Ads.

    • To upload your own ads, drag and drop your files or browse for them.

  5. Payment and review

    • You must enter a Credit Card or link PayPal to launch your campaign.
